Bryn Terfel: A St David’s Day Concert

This concert is a Celebration of Welsh Song on St David’s Day with the BBC National Orchestra and Chorus of Wales and National Youth Choir of Wales conducted by Gareth Jones and artists, world renowned bass-baritone Bryn Terfel, soprano Menna Cazel and Royal Harpist, Hannah Stone. The programme reflects a century of Welsh Song to orchestral accompaniment by composers such as Meirion Williams, E T Davies, R S Hughes and Robat Arwyn including a specially commissioned arrangement of the late Bryan Davies’ ‘Medley of Welsh Songs’ by Chris Hazell. The massed choir of 160 voices perform choral favourites such as Karl Jenkins’ Adiemus and the orchestra performs pieces by Hoddinott and Mathias. The audience are invited to join the artists, orchestra and choir for the grand finale, ‘A Welsh Celebration’, arranged by Jeff Howard.
