Take two families on an epic journey back in time that will test them to their limits Snowdonia 1890 is a landmark living history project for BBC One Wales. Two 21st Century families are transported back to the primitive existence of 1890 Snowdonia hillside farmers. Living in neighbouring farm cottages, separated by a network of fields, they face a battle for survival working the land and the slate quarries against a backdrop of a barren mountainous terrain and the Irish Sea. Moving into the tiny cottages – their homes for the next month – they soon realise that this will not be ‘pretend living’.
