Nadolig Bryn Terfel

A contemporary programme of Christmas carols to the accompaniment of traditional Welsh folk instruments, recorded at St Fagans National History Museum. Bryn Terfel performs folk songs in a genre that steps away from the classic repertoire we would usually expect from him, with performances set in various locations around the museum. Bryn is accompanied by a band of folk musicians led by music director, Patrick Rimes, and guests include Calan, Gwyneth Glyn, Brychan Llyr, Brigyn and Gwenan Gibbard. Christmas poems by Myrddin ap Dafydd bridge the songs and remind us of Festive traditions. The programme combines these old melodies with new arrangements to celebrate the Nativity.
